New Year Update

Happy New Year! This post is only a couple of weeks late, but I was spending time with my family over the holidays and catching up on sleep and assignments. So here is a recap of the last month. I got to go home and spend about a month at home. I went to the beach, hung out with my friends from home, caught up on all my doctors appointments, and just chilled out for a month.

Here are some of the Christmas cookies I baked while I was home

It was super fun to be back home. I really missed my friends and family, and am fortunate that I got the chance to spend time with everyone. I also really missed the sun. The sun likes to hide over here in England, so I spent as much time in the sun as I could. I also really missed the beach, so I spent lots of time walking on the beach. There were some big winter storms while I was home, so there were lots of opportunities to collect sea glass.

Here is one of the beaches I visited while I was home. It was very stormy this day.

I also got to see lots of christmas lights while I was home. We went to two different drive through christmas light shows. They were super cool, and a great way to get into the christmas spirit. Christmas and New Years were both pretty chill and relaxed. Every New Years we get up early and watch the sunrise from the beach. There is something really cool about watching the first sunrise of the year.

The first sunrise of the year!

My last day at home I visited all my friends one last time, packed, and my family and I went bowling. we played three games, and the last game I bowled a turkey. I have never bowled three strikes in a row before, and it was super cool thing to do. I had a great time at home, but it was time to go back to school.

My Turkey! I Have no idea how I did it, but it happened and the proof is in the photo

I was super anxious the whole flight back to London. I think I was most nervous about taking my big bags on the trains. The Elizabeth line from London Heathrow has lots of room. It looks just like a subway. The other train I took from London Stratford is the one I was most worried about. The seats are very close together, and there really is no room for bigger bags. But in the end everything worked out. My anxiety definitely took a toll on me for the first few days back, but I made it safe and sound all in one peace.
